Will Protective Registration stop mefrom getting credit or insurance?
No. Protective Registration warnings will not result in your applications being declined. These warnings make it clear that you are the genuine party, and that you have been (or suspect you may be) the victim of an identity theft.
When you make an application for an account or facility, the Protective Registration warning alerts the CIFAS Member that a third party has previously used (or may use) your identity fraudulently. The Member will then make extra checks to verify that the application is genuine and that they are not dealing with the fraudster.
If you are still concerned about being declined for a product or service, please read: I've been declined for credit, insurance or another product or service - could it be a CIFAS warning that caused this?
