Speakers At Events

Notes for External Organisers on inviting CIFAS Speakers to Events

These notes are to assist you when inviting a speaker from CIFAS to your event. Please pass these guidelines to any colleagues who may also be involved in invitations.

Invitations must not be sent direct to CIFAS staff.

Due to the frequent requests for CIFAS speakers we can usually offer no more than one speaker from CIFAS for each event and we cannot always provide speakers.

We need the following information before we can consider your request.

  • name of organisation running the event, and details of status (e.g. commercial company, registered charity)
  • event title;
  • event location;
  • event programme;
  • requested speech title or topic;
  • confirmed and invited speakers;
  • audience level, background and expected numbers and
  • method of advertising the event.

This information will help us to help you. It will help us to identify the most appropriate speaker for your event. If you already have a speaker in mind for your invitation, please tell us and we will approach them first.

We will contact you within 7 days of the receipt of your request to let you know whether or not we can provide a speaker for your event.

Speaker Fees Policy

1. CIFAS will charge for providing speakers for events run by commercial conference providers. The rates are £1,000 plus VAT plus travelling expenses (and the cost of an overnight stay, where necessary) for a presentation lasting up to 40 minutes. This covers preparation time, attendance and delivery of the presentation.

2. CIFAS will provide speakers free of charge for not-for-profit organisations, trade associations, professional bodies and Institutes, but will require reimbursement of any travelling expenses (and the cost of an overnight stay, where necessary). CIFAS will accept a complimentary place at the conference in return for speaking.

Speaker Topics

CIFAS can offer speakers on subjects such as

  • The Role of CIFAS
  • Combating Identity Fraud
  • Private and Public Sector Data Sharing to Prevent Fraud
  • Fraud Scoring
  • New Fraud Prevention Initiatives
  • Staff Fraud and Dishonesty

Can we help you market your event?

CIFAS is willing to distribute your conference brochures to CIFAS Members (for a fee) by post or by e-mail. The charge is dependent upon the staff effort required, the number to be sent and the postage cost. If you are interested in exploring this with us, please complete the form below and click the relevant option. If you are not seeking a speaker, simply put "N/A" in the boxes that do not apply.
